I had spent a lot of time away from the studio, engaged in other projects and passions. It wasn’t until a colleague from Los Angles visited the studio with armfuls of found objects for me (including the vintage ‘air mail’ stamps used in this piece) that I found the enthusiasm I’d been waiting for and started working again. 
 
Because of Ellen is an homage to dear Ellen, and to the artistic process.
